How I Keep My Long Hair Moisturized

I have long, thick hair. I have always had thick hair. You know the kind of hair I am referring to. The kind of hair that as soon as a rain drop touches it, it turns into a big frizzy mess. When this happens, I look like the scarecrow in “The Wizard of Oz”.
In order for me to style my hair and keep it in control all day, I have to apply a leave in conditioner or moisturiser and then spray it wet. I never apply a brush to my hair as it is just about impossible to do. Instead, I use a wide toothed comb or pick to do the job.
One of the best conditioners I have found that work great for my hair (and I’m assuming any type of dry, thick hair) is Tresemme. It is actually one of the only conditioners that work for me and leave my hair soft and smooth. I can actually run my fingers through my hair after applying this conditioner and this is even when it is dry.
Another conditioner I use often is Suave (which is a few pounds cheaper than Tresemme). I use this twice a week to give my hair a break from the Tresemme. As you might know, if you use the same shampoo and conditioner in your hair day after day, eventually it will stop working. So, you need to give your hair a break from it every once in a while and this is how I do this.
I also use a leave in moisturizer or hot oil treatment on my hair at least once or twice a month. This helps to keep the moisture in my locks and leave my hair more manageable. Sometimes I have even gone as far as applying mayonnaise on my wet hair and wrapping it up in a towel for an hour or two. This is a great “natural” conditioner when you do not have any available. Although I am not too fond of the smell of mayonnaise, so I only do this when I have nothing else that I can use.
Another thing I do in place of a moisturizer for my hair is skip a day when washing. I wash my hair every other day with shampoo and condition it everyday. It is actually a wise thing to do for your hair as it helps to build up the natural oils from your scalp that will relieve dry hair.
Having long hair can be a blessing as it adds to the natural beauty of a woman and in my opinion, more guys prefer long hair over short. But, it can be a lot of work to keep it moisturized, shiny and smooth. I have always wanted long hair, so when it became too thick and dry to manage, I just never gave up on it. I kept searching for the right product for my hair and that is exactly what I found.
That is of course on my head mind. I regularly go to a laser hair removal clinic in London in order to keep my legs fuzz free!
